Volume rebonding/digital perm experiences: Zinc Salon @ SG and Park Jun's @ PH

The first time I had my hair permed was June last year,at Park Jun's in Glorietta.I was quite hesitant to do it then..afraid that the result wouldn't be what I was hoping for my hair to be. I googled reviews for the best digital perm salon and I decided to go with Park Jun, albeit expensive..at least it seemed that they are capable of being my perm fairy godmother.

Park Jun's Beauty Lab at Glorietta 2 is located between Hard Rock CafĂ© and California Pizza Kitchen.
Tel. 819-3001 or 819-3002.

And I was not mistaken. I liked it! I tried their volume magic wave treatment. Cost me an arm and a leg pero worth it naman, I must say. Most importantly..hubby liked it!Proof? I'm pretty sure it was the day that my hubby first saw me sporting that hair that we conceived our kiddo..hahaha!

Sorry no pix though (I lost 3 iphones and 1 tab between then and now, the pix were mostly there) Just take my word for it!

Anyway, fast forward to a year later...I had  given birth already so I can finally go for salon treatments..but life and expenses caught up with me so I keep putting off having my post-pregnancy makeover, which I really needed already coz I'm bordering losyanghood na!!

Ok so this weekend I finally did it..I initially planned to have my hair done at lucky plaza, nagkukuripot lang ang peg!!$130 lang, perm, treatment and color na!Promo daw sabi ni ate so muntik ko na patulan. But they say your hair is your crowning glory..so why skimp on it?This was also the point driven to me by my sisses-in-law and hubby na dn..so I relented (hindi na lang ako kakain ng mga isang buwan,hehehe)..I decided to go to the raved about Salon in SG..Zinc Salon .

I was looking for a salon in SG which offers volume rebonding coz I wanted my hair to be tamed with soft big curls at the end. Of course, I turned to google for recommendation and I found Zinc Salon via beautyundercover.sg. The salon was rated 8/10 and there were good reviews about it from SG bloggers.I also found out that it is being frequented by local celebrities. Best of all, they have an ongoing promotion:

Surprisingly, the price is less than what I have paid for at Park Jun's...considering I also availed of the off peak promo at PJ's then. So I decided to go for it.

I booked a Sunday morning appointment, 11am. I woke up late that day so I called them up to advice them that I'm running late. They were accommodating, first sign of the great customer experience that is waiting for me. By the way, the salon is along Orchard Road, so it's super accessible (via Somerset MRT).

When I arrived, I realized I was their first customer and being so, they showered me with their undivided attention.  They asked me if I wanted something to drink and I chose green tea. They then ushered me to the shampoo room. When I got back to my chair, I saw a stack of magazines (recent issues, mind you), a cup of hot green tea (covered so it'd stay hot longer) and 2 individual packs of Lotus caramelized biscuits! I'm aware of the Lotus Speculoos spread craze that's all over Instagram and I was psyched to have a bite of its biscuit version, for free! See, I told you I was in for a good customer service.

But more than the good customer service, what matters more is if they'd be able to do a good job on my hair as well. For that, let me introduce my stylist, Rena.

Pretty di ba? She's has a nice smile, very friendly :)

In one of her profiles, it was mentioned that she has over 8 years of experience and was personally handpicked by thr style director for her superb perming skill.Yey!I must be in good hands!

Haircut to remove damaged ends

Perming the ends

She ran my hair through a flat iron before perming the ends. I guess that is to make the hair smooth and silky and the hair won't be frizzy.

Finished product!

Soft, wispy curls - Yey!

2 months later, with my good friend, Alex. Curls still bouncy, not bad, right?
(Sorry I'm not much into taking selfies, so my pix are really limited.:p)
